About us
In Middle School
Monkey Rebel Society is a group of activist artists located in New Westminster, BC.
We started in 2021 as an art club, and eventually evolved into the society we are today. Back then, we were just a group of middle schoolers with a simple, slightly chaotic mission: Creatively complain for a better world. We wore monkey masks to keep the focus on our message, not our faces. We were the noisy kids of Glenbrook Middle, meeting whenever we could, pushing for 15-minute cities and climate justice from the hallways.
Today, the masks are off, but the mission has only scaled up. Now in High School, the Monkey Rebel Society has traded the playground for bigger and brighter goals.
We use creativity to bring attention to issues regarding ethnic bias, the environment and general inequity. We believe that creative complaining is the key for young people to maintain our sanity when confronted with injustice. We use the tools we were given in order to bring light to issues around us.
We aren’t just asking for a seat at the table anymore; we’re building the table ourselves.

Add some scotch tape over the white elastic holes, then use a hole puncher or tool to poke the holes for longer wearability.
