ReGENERATE CHALLENGE
for 22nd Street Area 2024
We were invited to meet in the end of 2023 with the Climate Action, Planning and Development team for the City of New Westminster. They were hoping to gather ideas from people of all ages regarding the redevelopment of the area around 22nd street station, which has not grown as nicely as the rest of the city (actually it looks a bit old and messy).
So of course we came in to give some ideas regarding making it better, safer and MORE GREEN!!!

During that brainstorming meeting, we compiled a very long list of possible things the City could do to make things more environmentally friendly and better for everyone.
Shortly after, we found out about the contest for the 22nd Street Area, as explained below!!!
We used all of our ideas from our brainstorming, as well as more and more ideas, to make 4 posters, and sent everything in to the contest!
There were 82 submissions and it was really hard for the city to pick the winners.
GUESS WHAT!!! We won TOP LOCAL COMMUNITY IDEA!
The Legislative Assembly of BC even congratulated us for helping with the area design!!!
And, that is a $2000 dollar prize for our club!
We are all SO EXCITED -- we will be buying many books, doing field trips
and also celebrating LOTS!
