How to Pick a Project?

Picking a topic for change can be quite difficult to do.

Maybe you think there is nothing to change around you; maybe you think there is just too much.

Either way, it can be overwhelming, particularly if you are young and still figuring out what matters to you, and how to make your voice heard.

So, what makes a good project topic?

To pick a project topic, consider these questions:

  • Does my project improve the lives of a large number of people, either in my neighborhood, my city or the world?
  • Is my project asking for something that is sustainable -- is it environmentally sound?
  • Will the project matter in the future? Will this change improve the lives of people a few years from now?

"Free Taco Tuesdays" is not a good project topic, for instance.

Can you come up with topics that are impactful and that will make the world truly better?

If so, how will you creatively complain in order to make your voice be heard?
